Well, finally getting to blog - shouldn’t really as have a ton of work to do and out two days again next week (for work conference unfortunately not leave), but my boss is at an all day meeting now and well getting withdrawal from not blogging LOL.

Its been a busy week.  I had last Friday and Monday off.  Friday I was up early and at Heathrow airport to pick my friend Lisa (who I used to work with in SA) and her friend Carol who arrived from Cape Town and have been staying with me.  After a bit of a rest we ventured into town and I think I walked them a bit too much LOL - we did London Eye, Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square, Picadilly Circus, Covent Garden where Marc met us and we went to meet my friend Crystal on the boat on the Thames for drinks followed by dinner.  The weather has been gorgeous - 27 and so hot, but unfortunately turned yesterday.

Saturday we went to Michelle and Craig for a braai, Sunday to Camden and Kingston - then relaxed by the river.  Sunday night we just went locally for some dinner.  They have been busy doing hop on - hop off tour buses, Madam Tussards etc.  Monday I had the TV cable guy to give me cable (one down from Sky - DSTV at home) - he was from Klerksdorp LOL!  But have my TV and wireless router for internet all set up now.

Monday we went to Marc’s housemate’s band’s gig (what a mouthful LOL) in Old Street - they were very good.  It was first time I had heard them.

Tuesday I went to a  Executive PA Conference - was a packed and busy day including four 1 hour seminars I attended, but found it very useful.  I got a call yesterday to say I won a £1000 worth of PA training from a draw from one of the stands!!  I never win anything so was quite chuffed.

Wednesday night just met the girls and Marc for dinner in town before the girls went off to Bristol yesterday - they come back tomorrow for one night before going off to Trinidad.  I want to go somewhere :(

Tonight we off to Wimbledon to watch another one of Transkei’s gigs.  At least it is near home which is great.  And not much else planned for weekend.

Well, have a good weekend all and have missed chatting to you all.

Lots of love

So I did my 5km Race for Life last night - in 34 mins - considering I have not been training much AT ALL - I was happy with my time - even though wanted under 30mins.  Best I get cracking on training more for my traithlon which is a month away now.

Today is another beautiful day in London - sun shining about 23 degrees - everyone is happy.  And I’m happy as I have tomorrow and Monday off - so long weekend for me!  But I have to fetch Lisa and Carol from the airport at 06.50am!  First time going to the new Terminal 5 at Heathrow - will see how I get on - good luck to me.

Its all up the air what we doing this weekend - as will have to see what Lisa and them want to do - go off and do their own thing or me do sightseeing with them etc.

Tuesday I am at a Executive PAs Conference - including 4 seminars during the day - should be interesting, but a packed day.  At least don’t have to be in the office though :)

I am missing Marc this week.  We have been so busy lately and always had something on during the week, but haven’t seen him during this week since Monday :(  Absence is making the heart grow fonder.  My dad has named him Marc number 3 LOL.  Seeing as my brother is Mark and my sister’s boyfriend is Mark…  At least he is with a “c”.

The announcement for our new building we are moving to in 2010 went out yesterday (all of our buildings - about 6 are going into one).  It is in Angel in London - but for me means a worse journey.  Everyone talking about it…  let’s see where I am in 2010 LOL.

Well just a short howzit.  Boss is in and loads to finish before starting my weekend later :)

Love you all and chat to you soon.

It is a BEAUTIFUL day today outside and the rest of the week is supposed to range between 21 -24 degrees (which is like 25 plus in the UK).  Summer looks like it might be here.  Sandals have come out (plasters for blisters LOL), skirts, VERY white legs (yes, I am talking about my own) and the smiles.  Its amazing how a little sun and blue skies cheers people up.

The weekend was a great one.  Friday night was just spent in relaxing - as was out last Thursday too supporting the band Transkei in the semi-finals of a competition called “Battle of the Bands” - there were 7 bands and 2 got through - Transkei being one of them!!

Saturday Marc and I went for some lunch in Wimbledon, then off to Kingston to buy him new jeans and a bit of shopping.  We made our way through to his and then went to a braai at a friend - was good fun and the weather was lovely.

More pics on my Facebook and Flickr account.

Sunday we got up early to do so many things, but landed up watching a DVD with his housemate - then ventured to Maidenhead to have lunch with Donovan.  It was great to see him and he loved showing us where he lives, his little town and all about his life he has been talking about over the last couple of months.

Sunday night we went to watch  - I am really starting to like Russell Brand and was very entertaining.

Monday we awoke bright and early - was also a lovely day - and went to have breakfast with Michelle and Craig.  Haven’t seen them for a while, so was good catching up and for them to meet Marc.

I have taken this Friday and Monday off as my friend Lisa is arriving from SA - I used to work with her - but always stayed friends afterwards, so will be good having her visit.  I will definitely be enjoying the weather too.  Then have a conference on next Tuesday, so have a 3 day week this week and next - great stuff!

I am running my 5km  tomorrow night which I do every year - good for training LOL.  As usual I will be running it for my mom and my aunt who passed away from cancer and for all those friends and loved one that I know or that friends know who are suffering or have suffered from it.

Well, best I get on with some work - after Friday when everyone decided to take the long weekend early and I was doing 4 people’s jobs in one - I still have loads to do.

Have a great week all and chat to you all soon.

Lots of love

My thoughts are a bit random today, so excuse me jumping around while writing this.  My thoughts are just on various things.

It is raining… again…    I wish I was curled up in bed rather than being here.  Especially after we had such a nice weekend weather wise and now back to rain.  Where is summer?  It is getting warmed and Saturday is supposed to be 20 and 22 on Sunday, but yip, you guessed it - with rain!

Spoke to my dad last night - he is sounding ok.  Him and his bike friends have decided not to come overseas this year for the TT racing on Isle of Man, but do a trip through Botswana and possibly come next year.  His eyesight hasn’t improved at all, so will see if it still does - I hope so.  But he sounds like he is coping for now.

My boss received a note today from someone he met at one of our events, together with an “Out of Africa - Big Five” tie.  It still has the price tag on as R90 - this made me smile.  He better wear it LOL.

My assistant got me a free smoothie at the station this morning.  I love the way they are always giving away free things, promoting things etc. and absolutely love the fact she always thinks of me and brings me free goodies from her station too - gotta love that! LOL.

I have a cold - not that viral infection that I had before - or maybe it is just it actually coming out - but have a blocked nose etc.  I don’t feel too bad, just had not being able to breathe through my nose. Argh!

We are going to a gig tomorrow night in Camden - the band Transkei we know is in a competition “Battle of the bands” - tomorrow 7 bands are playing, 2 go through to semi-finals in June and finalist goes to Germany.  Looking forward to it.

I am SO looking forward to the long weekend - we are less lucky that my SA friends - as we only have Monday off, not Friday and Monday - but for now it will do LOL.  Only plans we have is two braais to go to on Saturday (weather permitting) and having breakfast with Michelle and Craig on Monday morning.

I have one of our Executive Assistants coming to shadow me this afternoon - as part of her objectives for her appraisal.  What I am going to do with this woman I have no idea - so good luck to me with that LOL.

Well, best I get on with it before she comes.

Love you all.

Where has the weekend gone?  Its Monday morning again!  And its a long weekend in SA - hope all my fabulous friends there are thinking of me being at work and lonely today :)  At least my boss is out from today until Friday - so a bit of peace.

How was everyone’s weekend?

I did have a fantastic weekend.  Friday - after getting out of work late as some madman wanted to see my boss - he has been harassing everyone since being suspended from us and refused to leave the building and was waiting for my boss - big drama, but all ok now.  Marc and I had a braai at his - was so yummy!  and a lovely relaxing evening.  Saturday was up bright and early - was a stunning, warm day - over 20 degrees.   We headed into Hammersmith for Marc’s dentist appointment and to do a bit of shopping.  Saturday afternoon we had a lunch at Marc’s (about 8 of us) to say goodbye to Shaun and sat in the garden - was so nice and I got quite burnt - I have lovely tan lines of my vest top and my pendant of my necklace - sexy!  Crystal greyed otu some of the pics so I didn’t look so red!

We headed back to mine, picked up Don along the way and headed to Crystal’s bday bash - was good fun.

Sunday was a day of rest.  Dropped Donovan off at station about 6ish and Marc and I were asleep by just after 10pm.

The weather is warming up here, but raining again here.  But hopefully weather for no coats soon like Saturday!

Well, have a good week all and those in SA - enjoy your holiday while us plebs are working hard… :)

Lots of love

Today is a day for testing my patience - my boss is in a filthy mood (to be fair just cause he is so busy - lucky he is away next week for work), people aren’t giving me things they were supposed to yesterday already, we have some stupid person who is on suspension insisting to see my boss and refuses to leave the building - ish! it all happens on a Friday hey!

Wednesday 10 of us went out for Stuart’s birthday - it was really nice and all Marc’s friends have been so welcoming of me which I really appreciate it.   Last night was my friend Crystal’s birthday - so we had a few drinks after work with her.

Tonight I’m off to Marc’s and we going to have a braai - yay!  It is 17 degrees here, so everyone smiling - its hot (well hotter for us), sunny and weekend - what more could you ask for.  Tomorrow we having a leaving lunch for a friend of Marc and his housemates at his, who is moving to Dubai.  Then making our way back to mine to meet Donovan back at mine too - to get changed then we all off to Temple Walkabout for Crystal’s birthday bash.  Sunday hopefully a relaxing day - Marc wants to go get new jeans in Kingston and besides that do as little as possible.

What are all of you up to?

Well, more work to get done unfortunately before weekend starts.  I have just had to call someone to come in too, who is supposed to be on annual leave today - but only because she promised to provide us with work that she hasn’t and of course my boss needs it before he goes.  Its ok - I am used to being the bitch at work… LOL

On that happy note…

I have been very proper today and went to the shops before work this morning and bought fruit, cereal, yoghurt and things for work - no more croissants downstairs for breakfast - well I’m trying to be healthier ok - and save money rather than buying at our canteen every day.  We will see how long it lasts :p

I can’t believe it is Monday morning again!  This weekend has been so good, but too quick as usual.

Friday night we went to Clapham Grand to watch Transkei play - Transkei is the band of a few of Marc’s friends and two of his old housemates.  They are a punk rock band, but really good.  Also James is from Melkbos and Stuart from Monte Vista (my town at home) - so have to support our home boys LOL.

We did have a fab evening and after the 4 bands played it was transformed into a disco scene with even luminated disco square floor - I know cheesy - but was good fun!

Saturday Marc and I had such a lazy day at mine!  We got out of bed at about close to 12ish had coffee etc and then actually went back to bed - only got up again about 2pm.  Sometimes a lazy day in bed and of course having someone to cuddle up to is just a bonus! Just a kiss... mmm...

Saturday night I had a quiet on in by myself.  Marc went with a friend to watch football - and plan was Donovan was going to spend some quality time by me - just us…  but he cancelled on me :(

Early Saturday morning Marc and Don came to meet me and we made our way through to Tam for lunch.  Tam and James were here for a few days from Boston - they were my old housemates and good friends of mine, so was great seeing them again.   Don made his way back to Maidenhead home then and Marc and I just headed back to mine.

This week is fully of birthdays - we going out for Stuart’s bday on Wednesday for dinner, my friend Crystal’s on Thursday, her proper bday drinks on Saturday night - at least weekend after next is a long one for us.  We have two long weekends in May - I really want to go somewhere for one of them - will have to see and look into that.

Well, best I go do some work.  Have a fab week all.

Love you all.

A year ago today my mom sadly passed away, after her five year battle with cancer.

God saw you getting tired. When a cure was not to be,

He closed his arms around you and whispered, “Come to Me”.

In tears we saw you sinking. We watched you fade away.

Our hearts were almost broken, you fought so hard to stay.

But when we saw you sleeping so peacefully free from pain,

We could not wish you back to suffer so again.

So keep your arms around him Lord, and give him special care.

Make up for all he suffered and all that seemed unfair.

I don’t know where she is right now, but I have always said I know she is looking down on me and I am just glad she is not in pain anymore.

She was a very brave woman and fought all the way to the end. I can only wish I had her spirit, strength and fighting power. I know we had our moments - I’m sure like most mothers and daughters do - but she was still my mom and I loved her. I still sometimes feel that she is just away at the moment and I will see her again soon… And I fear how I will get through milestones in my life without her being here.. and worry how my dad is not copying without her and will he will be ok.

My mom’s friendly personality was showed by all the friends she had - everyone knew her, from the man at the bank to the ladies at the supermarket, and I can hear her now saying “I may not have a lot of money, but I have friends” LOL. I know now that everything she did and fought with me for was because she loved me and I thank her for it - thank her for the values she taught me and for loving me another to care so much on how I turned out :)

I hope you with the angels mom and looking down on how many people you have left so many good memories with… You are missed mom… I miss you…

If roses grow in Heaven Lord

Please pick a bunch for me.

Place them in my Mother’s arms

and tell her they’re from me.

Tell her I love her and miss her,

and when she turns to smile,

Place a kiss upon her cheek

and hold her for a while.

Because remembering her is easy,

I do it everyday,

But there is an ache within my heart

That will never go away.

Its Sunday night…  I don’t want the weekend to be over…

Friday turned out to be a bit of a stressful day - as American Airlines decided to ground about 1500 flights and my boss was travelling via Dallas to San Diego - his connecting flight with American Airlines.  Everytime he flies to US things go wrong.  But he got there after dramas we won’t go into!

I met Marc after work and we came to stay by mine.  Just a quiet one in.  Saturday we went to him and got ready for party - putting up gazebo, washing down patios, preparing braai stuff…  Some people really did go out of their way with 90s theme.  Was good fun.

After cleaning up this morning, us and his housemates - Matt, Luke, Sam - went to pub for good old Sunday Roast - just what we needed.

The weather is miserable here again - thunder, rain…  indoor weather.

At least my boss is in US now until Thursday, but still in no mood for Monday tomorrow - bring on bank holiday weekends - we have two long weekends in May - one beginning and one end - can’t wait!

Well, I’m off to watch Desperate Housewives, so have a great night and week all.

Love you all.
